Thermal cameras detect temperature by capturing and recognizing different levels of infrared light that is invisible to the human eye. All objects emit a level of infrared radiation.

When used correctly, thermal systems accurately measure an individual’s skin temperature without the risk of needing to be in close physical proximity of the person. While no thermal imaging technologies can make claims to diagnosis Covid-19 or other illness, they are used to provide a first line of defense for staff and employee entering a building and reducing the chance of spreading illness.

If the individual has been out in extreme heat or even cold, it is recommended to wait roughly 30 seconds for their body temperature to adjust to the environment. The camera scans the temperature from the skin that adjusts to ambient temperature fairly fast and efficiently.

Our thermal products need to be set within a controlled environment and cannot be installed in direct light for the most accurate results.

Our suggestion is if you are investing in the product, you should also invest in creating a controlled environment for the most accuracy. This can include creating covering or tents with fans to control the ambient temperature if placed outside or in extreme temperatures.

Yes, although the CDC recommends that any temperature above 100.4 is considered to be an elevated temperature, many states and businesses have set the max threshold of a fever to be considered as 99.5. For this reason, temperature thresholds are configurable by each customer for their specific requirements and needs.

Even while wearing PPE or head covering, the thermal kit and rPad can detect skin temperature as long as 30% of the face is available.

The security, integrity and confidentiality of your information are extremely important to us. We have implemented technical, administrative and physical security measures designed to protect guest information from unauthorized access, disclosure, use and modification that follow or exceed industry standards for security.

We regularly review our security procedures and evaluate applicable new technology to keep our methods up to date. Please be aware that, despite our best efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable.

All data collected including facial images are converted into a mathematical code called a template. This code cannot be used to identify anyone, nor can it be used to generate an image of the individual’s face.

The blackbody is a temperature sources that creates a stable and constant temperature as reference. The thermal cameras accurately calibrate body temperatures based on the temperature of the blackbody. The data is then transmitted to the AI NVR. Do not touch the sensor to the blackbody calibrator, as tampering with the sensor may cause damage to the unit.
